ICHABOD INK was founded in 2005 by Dr. Christopher
Carpenter. The mission of the company is to share the science of
veterinary medicine with children who truly love animals. Through
its publications, children will see how an understanding of science
helps make pets feel better.
ICHABOD INK will also give
back to the profession and to pets. A portion of proceeds will
be given to select veterinary colleges and welfare groups.
THE
VETERINARY CLINIC CASES SERIES
The Veterinary Clinic Cases Series is the
only series of children's books written and reviewed by veterinarians.
The series will teach children the science of veterinary
medicine by taking them into a clinic and letting them follow the
work-up of a case with Christopher and his Newfoundland dog Ichabod.
They will watch Christopher's veterinarian mother
as she uses veterinary tools and equipment. They will also explore
the basic anatomy and physiology of the case with Christopher and
Ichabod. Finally, they will see how a veterinarian's understanding
of science helps to make sick pets feel better.
